![]() Foo Fighters!Just checked out the Foo Fighters show in Orlando last night and I feel compelled to state what everyone already knows: Foo Fighters are one of the greatest modern rock acts going right now. Dave Grohl is a true showman, and the band works very hard on stage. One of the only bands I've seen that can truely bring the house down in a packed arena.
It's cliche to say what I'm going to say, but it is 100% true so I guess I have to say it: Foo Fighters kick ass. -Craig Shadows, Peddlers, and the Ecapsym Museum....The Shadows could be seen around every corner, grouping and flocking to places such as the morgues and the Ecapsym Museum like colonies of little white-footed ants; one following the next in ridiculous formation. The Shadows dealt in numbers. Strength in numbers. Yet, the math wore the stench of introspective ineptitude…..and did so with startling zeal.
Every Shadow eventually made his way to the Ecapsym Museum. Some were born of it; entering as one of the Few, exiting as Shadow. The Museum was a unique creation wrought from a tremendous vision, but as was the case with many other similarly innovative concepts, time brought the Museum into the hands of those who would see it down a shallower path. The Few strived to maintain its integrity, dodging Peddlers and working to promote all things respectable. Mr. Troppus could be seen in the Museum from time to time, as could the Circus Bear—flashes of color among the hordes of Shadows. They wore the indelible text given to them by The Institute, and as long as they did, no fees were to be paid. The Shadows on the other hand eagerly paid full price for admission to the Museum. They were not students of The Institute, and therefore did not have the ability to read its text nor wear it indelibly. They’d be seen flooding the halls shoulder to shoulder, fiddling their display areas for the rest of the faceless to catch a glimpse. No one spoke, only the traipsing of feet could be heard as they scurried impatiently in a confusing manner. With them, the Museum was constantly humming with restless activity, yet the walls remained stark white with nauseating redundancy. The gift shop was always at capacity, with Peddlers pushing the latest Farm harvest in traditional midway style. Anything from poets to prophets was available, and they sold them cheap (ten cents for a quantity of twelve). Strangely enough, the Shadows also unknowingly paid out in installments to the Museum. However, these payments were not monetary. The Shadows paid out pieces of themselves—an eye, a toe, a thought, perhaps a measure of flesh. These days the Museum was riddled with Peddlers. The Peddlers would wait for the inevitable numbing that every Shadow experienced and then collect these payments one small piece after the other. When a Shadow noticed something missing, the Peddlers would sell them fresh harvest to replace it. It was indeed a disgusting monopoly. -Craig Mr. Troppus and his unusual dwelling.......Most would assume that Mr. Troppus found homestead in your typical "right next door" type of living quarter. It seemed natural, because he would be seen wandering every now and again. And although his demeanor fell very short of overbearing, he was nonetheless there--and therefore should have lived nearby by normal logic.
After a little peering into the daily activities of Mr. Troppus, a peculiar insight was discovered. He did not live nearby at all. In fact, he did not live anywhere even remotely close. The Fotros', who were his cousins, lived in town......but Mr. Troppus did not stay with them. He seemed not to even interface with them at all despite engaging in seemingly similar behaviors. It was found that Mr. Troppus traveled great distances each and every day to come into town, but the reasons why did not make sense. The reasons defied all logic. Mr. Troppus and the Fotros' were seen doing similar things, but Mr. Troppus always seemed to accomplish these things in a more significant and profound manner. For instance, if the Fotros' swept the walkway in front of the town drug store, Mr. Troppus would sweep it again for twice as long and scrub the walls of the drug store afterwards with soap and water. Before leaving, he would replace dimming light bulbs in the display sign outside with new, shiny ones and remark to passers-by positively about the store. Mr. Troppus was unimposing and subtle in demeanor, but his actions were incredible in nature. This is why Mr. Troppus' dwelling seemed so bizarre. Why would he travel such great distances to do such great things again and again? The Fotros' only lived right around the corner but could not hold a candle to the character of Mr. Troppus. The townspeople do not understand why the Fotros' neglect to follow the precedent that Mr. Troppus has set. It would seem logical for them to do so, but it has yet to happen. -Craig The story of the Circus Bear and the morgue.....There once was a Circus Bear who knew many tricks. He could ride a unicycle while playing the accordian. He could juggle. He could perform funny gestures on cue, and many times improvised on his own accord. He was truly a unique Circus Bear. He took pride in his abilities and enjoyed sharing them with others. Just got back from Asheville.....What a killer place to visit! I stayed with some friends over the weekend and caught two Smashing Pumpkins shows at the Orange Peel. The shows were unbelievable, the town was awesome, and the people were awesome! Just a little time downtown showed that there is such a cool music scene there, it's very dynamic and stylistically diverse. Can't wait to go back.......
-Craig New photosThere are some new pics up in the Photo section. They were taken this past weekend over in Orlando. Thanks Niki!!
Just listened to the reference master......and it's sounding awesome. We had the album mastered at The Kitchen this past week and they got it to us tonight. So things are moving ahead with the album and we should be working with Disc Makers shortly to get copies made. There's still some more work to do on the album layout, but that's the last step.
We're also doing a little photoshoot this coming weekend, so look for major updates to the site once I have those to work with. That's all I got! -Chris All Posts
